MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION
Because of the wide range of manuscripts types accepted, there is no one standardized format, however, all manuscripts should aim to include the following sections in their format:
1. ABSTRACT and KEY WORDS
The manuscript must have an abstract with a limit of 300-400 words followed by 3 – 6 key words not used in the title. The abstract should have sentences (no headings) that clearly identify the purpose of the manuscript, give a general outline of the content of the article, and if possible indicate practical applications. Academic manuscripts may follow standard academic journal writing guidelines. Visit LEO: Writing Abstracts website for more information on writing an abstract.
2. TEXT
The text must contain the following sections with titles in ALL CAPS in this exact order:
A. INTRODUCTION This section is a careful development of the purpose of the article, and a brief overview of the content under discussion.
B. DISCUSSION This is the main body of the article, where the purpose of the article is developed. The format is open, meaning the author can structure it anyway they feel is most effective to convey their ideas. References must be used to support facts, ideas, hypotheses. There are no restrictions on word limit, but its advised that authors keep articles less then 7000 words long without counting including diagrams, tables, figures, etc.
C. REFERENCES All references must be alphabetized by surname of first author and number listed at the end of the article. References are cited in the text by numbers [e.g., (4,9)]. All references listed must be cited in the manuscript and referred to by number therein. Please check references carefully for accuracy, as authors take full responsibility for the legitimacy and accuracy of their work. APA referencing is preferred.
3. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS
For any manuscript that presents original material, or material with practical application/s the author/s must provide practical recommendation to the application of this material.
Authors who wish to submit previous published material may do so its in its original format, with the understanding that TheGymPress may edit the article presentation to fit with the current issue it is to be published in.
